About Us - Green Bar - Meet the Sisters
Green bar is a plant-based restaurant, café and bar located in Legaspi Village, Makati. Founded in 2014 by sisters, Jaderani and Sarada Santos, the restaurant started small, with a handful of family favorite recipes and a deli case. The restaurant has since expanded their menu, focusing on comfort classics and healthy alternatives.
Vegans themselves, the Santos sisters have curated their culinary handbook from family recipes, travels and home cooking. Born vegetarians, their passion for cooking and food stemmed from necessity and also frustration with the lack of satisfying plant-based cuisine. Plant-based food isn’t just boring salads! They were determined to create a menu that was both creative and familiar and most importantly, full of flavor.
Our focus is making quality, plant-based dishes that will please any carnivorous palate and satisfying, healthy alternatives that don’t skimp on flavor. We love food and want you to experience that with every bite. Our menu has some permanent items and fan favorites such as the Breakfast Burrito, Hail Seitan, and Gourmet Donuts, but we are constantly improving, experimenting and revising our menu to keep it fresh and exciting.
Our flavor profiles and influence come from Southern California living and a love for holiday comfort food. The menu includes all our favorites from substantial breakfast and brunching items like our Chickpea Omelet and Breakfast sandwich; handholds, like our BBQ tofu sandwich and Barbacoa Tacos;, bowls, like our fresh and colorful Hollywood Bowl and the turmeric rich, Adlai Gold Bowl.
Our gourmet, yeast raised, deep fried donuts have gained a cult following for their light a fluffy texture and unique flavors that change daily. Our Havana cupcake, a coconut cream filled vanilla delight, won PETA’s best cupcake award.
We make all of our own cheeses and meats and always use quality plant-based ingredients.
